Buffalo-Style Chicken Wings Turn the Big 5-0
Happy 50th birthday, Buffalo-style chicken wings. The milestone was celebrated Thursday at the Buffalo tavern that’s credited with inventing the dish on a March night a half century ago, The Associated Press reported. According to lore, the owner whipped up a snack at the request of her son who got hungry while having late-night drinks. She cut up some chicken wings to make them easier to eat by hand, deep fried them and served the snack covered in hot sauce. The rest is foodie history.
