Arrest in Case of N.Y. Trash Collector Hit-and-Run Death
State police say a Hudson Valley woman has been charged with leaving the scene of a hit-and-run accident that left a trash collector dead last year.
Blanca Romano-Morales, 26, of Highland Mills was arrested Wednesday after an investigation into the death of Anastacio Vasquez of Spring Valley. Vasquez was working for the village of Kiryas Joel’s sanitation department and crossing a street when he was run down on Dec. 11.
Romano-Morales is being held in the Orange County Jail on a felony charge of leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
