The U.S. Army maritime floating pier for the delivery of aid to Gaza is set to be completed Wednesday, according to a report seen by The Times of Israel.

The first truck carrying aid for Gazans is expected reach Gaza’s shores on Thursday.

President Joe Biden announced the construction of the pier in March, and made it clear that while U.S. troops would assist in the transfer of aid to trucks, they would not step on Gazan soil.

Some 60 aid trucks reached the Erez crossing yesterday, some from the Ashdod port and some from Jordan.

Dutch Foreign Minister Hanke Bruins Slot is slated to visit the Erez crossing on Tuesday.
