The Shin Bet on Thursday announced the thwarting of a plot orchestrated by a group comprising Palestinians and Arab Israelis, aimed at carrying out terror attacks in Israel, including targeting National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir. Seven Arab Israelis and four Palestinians from Yehudah and Shomron have been apprehended in connection with this scheme.

The Shin Bet revealed that the group had planned assaults on IDF installations and other strategic locations, such as Ben Gurion Airport and the government compound in Yerushalayim. Additionally, they intended to execute an attack in Kiryat Arba, with ambitions to assassinate Ben Gvir using an RPG missile.

Furthermore, the cell had aspirations of kidnapping IDF soldiers and establishing a weapons manufacturing and training facility in southern Israel’s Rahat or in Yehudah and Shomron. The Shin Bet highlighted that the suspects had been in communication with Hamas officials in Gaza to secure funding and directives for their operations.

The arrested Arab Israeli suspects include Bilal Nassara, identified as the cell’s leader, along with others from Rahat, Lod, and Ma’ale Iron. The Palestinian suspects hail from Tulkarem and Jenin. Indictments have been filed against 10 of the suspects at the Be’er Sheva District Court.
