NSC Issues Travel Warnings to Turkey, Morocco, Jordan, Egypt Ahead of Pesach

The National Security Council (NSC) on Thursday issued travel warnings to several countries ahead of Pesach, citing potential security risks. Turkey, Morocco, Jordan, and Egypt are among the destinations flagged by the NSC, with travelers advised to avoid these areas at the current time.

The warning for Egypt extends to the Sinai Peninsula, a popular destination for Israeli tourists during Pesach. Despite the cautionary advisory, Israel does not currently plan to close its crossing into Egypt unless there is a specific threat that warrants such action.

The NSC highlights growing concerns during the ongoing Gaza war, noting increased efforts by global jihadist organizations to incite lone terrorists to target Jews and Israelis. Iran and its proxies are identified as primary threats in this regard.

Furthermore, the NSC warns of potential terrorist threats against Israelis and Jews in Europe and North America, particularly during Pesach. Religious and community institutions are being identified as preferred targets.

The NSC emphasizes that the risk of terrorist threats against Israelis and Jews remains extremely high more than five months after the start of the war. It cites numerous foiled terror attempts worldwide in recent years, indicating an ongoing threat.

According to the NSC, Hamas is actively seeking to target Israelis and Jews abroad during the war. In December 2023, a Hamas terror network operating in northern Europe was uncovered, underscoring the organization’s global reach and intent.
