Manufacturers Association Urges Year-Round DST for NIS 400M Savings

The president of the Manufacturers Association of Israel, Dr. Ron Tomer, advocates for implementing daylight saving time throughout the year, citing significant economic benefits.

Research conducted by the association’s research department suggests that such a move could lead to savings of approximately NIS 400 million annually. Dr. Tomer emphasizes the importance of maximizing resources, particularly during the winter months, and highlights the potential increase in energy savings from NIS 90 million to NIS 155 million if daylight saving time is extended throughout the year.

Daylight saving time begins overnight Thursday in Israel.
