By Hamodia Staff
Two Australian pro-Palestinian activists, Laura Allam, 28, and Mohammad Sharab, 37, were charged Tuesday with kidnapping and assaulting a victim suspected of being employed by a Jew in Melbourne, Australia.
The incident involved the victim being abducted, struck with a hammer, and subjected to head stomping.
Although the motive behind the attack has not been officially disclosed by the police, the Australian Jewish Association claims that it was indeed antisemitism. The victim was hospitalized due to injuries sustained in the attack, which has been described by the police as a “horrific kidnapping and torture.”
This incident comes amidst a reported sevenfold increase in antisemitic incidents in Australia following the Oct. 7 atrocities by Hamas.
