In a significant escalation, the Hezbollah terror group unleashed heavy rocket barrages targeting approximately a dozen communities in northern Israel on Sunday morning. Rocket warning signals were activated in areas including Meron, Bar Yochai, Merom Galil Regional Center, Kfar Shamai, Jish – Gush Halav, Tzivon, Bar’am, Safsufa – Kfar Choshen, Or HaGanuz, Kerem Ben Zimra, and Dovev.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, asserting that it launched “dozens of Katyusha rockets” in response to alleged Israeli attacks on southern Lebanese villages and civilian homes. The terrorist group specifically cited an incident in Khirbet Selm, where they claimed a family was killed in an Israeli attack on a house on Saturday night.

Reports from Al Jazeera claimed that at least 36 rockets were fired from southern Lebanon in one of the barrages, targeting Israeli military outposts. Social media circulated footage depicting multiple smoke plumes rising over a mountainside near Meron, indicative of rocket impacts.

Following the rocket onslaught on Upper Galilee, Lebanese media reported artillery fire hitting the southern Lebanon towns of Hebbariyeh and Kunin. The IDF confirmed detecting around 35 rocket launches from Lebanon toward Israeli territory, with several intercepted by air defenses. The IDF retaliated by conducting airstrikes, targeting Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure in Ayta ash Shab, an anti-tank missile launch post in Maroun El Ras, and a military site in Khirbet Selm where Hezbollah terrorists were identified.
