Federal and City investigators raided the Brooklyn headquarters of the FDNY Thursday morning, as well as the homes of two fire department chiefs, the New York Times reported.

The homes of Brian Cordasco and Anthony Saccavino, top chiefs in the department that are responsible for city inspections, were searched amid allegations that the two had engaged in accepting kickbacks to expedite and set up inspections.

Accusers say that the chiefs accepted around $100,000 in money from city building owners in need of inspections; investigations reportedly began last summer.

Neither have been charged with any crimes, but they have been placed on “modified duty,” according to a fire department spokesperson.

“The FDNY’s first priority is always keeping New Yorkers safe, and we expect every member of the department to act appropriately. As soon as Commissioner [Laura] Kavanagh was alerted to these allegations last fall, she immediately referred them to DOI to investigate them,” a spokesperson for the department said in a statement to the Post.

“Commissioner Kavanagh has proactively placed the employees at the center of this investigation on modified duty, and we are awaiting guidance from DOI regarding further action.”
