Purse Snatched in Crown Heights by Two Men on Moped

A Jewish woman walking at 4:35 p.m. Thursday afternoon on Empire Boulevard between Kingston Avenue and Albany Avenue had her pursed snatched by two men riding on a moped.
The woman was walking close to Kingston Avenue when the moped approached and the passenger riding on the back grabbed her purse before the driver sped off.
A similar robbery occurred a short while later in Williamsburg, and Boro Park has seen a rash of such purse snatchings in recent days.
Crown Heights Shomrim were able to retrieve video footage from surveillance cameras of two men riding through the neighborhood on a moped taken just a few minutes before the theft happened.
An investigation is underway to see if this robbery is connected to the recent spate of purse snatching in the other locations.
