IDF Reveals Documents That Expose Luxury Life of Hamas Leader’s Son

The IDF on Thursday revealed documents seized during the ground operation in the Gaza Strip, which show that the son of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Mu’ad, purchased diamonds worth more than $25,000 in 2021 and 2022, both in the Gaza Strip and in Doha, Qatar, where his father resides.

“Among the many intelligence documents, some were also seized that point to the disconnection and gap between the residents of the Gaza Strip and the Hamas leadership. The amount of money for one receipt is equivalent to almost two years’ salary for the average Gazan resident,” the IDF statement said.

One receipt dated Dec. 19, 2022 from the gold and jewelry company Grand Bazaar in Doha is for the amount of 7,400 dinars ($10,430); another receipt from Samir Abdullah Al-Saadi Co. in Gaza is for 1,040 dinars ($1,470); another receipt details a purchase at the same store for a larger amount of 5,407 dinars ($7,650); a receipt from Dec. 1, 2022 at the Amar Elser jewelry company in Gaza is for 2,894 dinars ($4,100); and another receipt is for 1,120 dinars ($1,580).
