Dozens of volunteers from many neighborhoods have joined Shomrim of Williamsburg as they search for Lazer Mendlowitz (Mendelowich) who went missing twenty-four hours ago and has not been seen since.

Lazer, a fifty-year-old special needs man who lives with his mother, was last seen Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the corner of Marcy Avenue and Broadway in Williamsburg. There is reason to believe that he left on public transportation.

He is described as five foot seven feet tall, brown eyes and weighing approximately 230 pounds, with grey hair, mustache and beard. He was wearing typical chassidishe clothing: a long black coat, black hat and white shirt.

Shomrim of Williamsburg has conducted a thorough search for the missing man, viewing surveillance cameras, searching shuls, hospitals, hotels and bridges but so far they have not succeeded in finding him.

Shomrim asks that anyone who has any information please contact them immediately at 718-237-0202 ot email them at tips@wspushomrim.org.
