U.S. House Financial Services Chair: FDIC, Fed Acting Is Within the Law

WASHINGTON (Reuters) —

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Federal Reserve have acted in accordance with the law amid two recent bank failures, the head of the U.S. House Financial Services Committee said on Tuesday.

Panel chairman U.S. Representative Patrick McHenry, a Republican, said he spoke with the head of the FDIC on Monday, and that Americans should have confidence in the banking system.
