BD”E: 21-Year-Old Jewish Soldier Killed During Fighting in Ukraine

Tragedy struck the town of Dnipro, Ukraine, after a member of the local Jewish community, 21-year-old Vladislav Shein, z”l, was killed during fighting against the Russians.

The Chief Rabbi of Ukraine, Rabbi Moshe Reuven Assman, eulogized him: “Vladislav lost his life in defense of his people. He fought bravely from the very beginning of the [Russian] invasion. I send my condolences to his family, and pray together with all the Jews of Ukraine for the recovery of the wounded and an end to the ongoing bloodshed.

”I call again on the world to intervene and help achieve a ceasefire. The situation in Ukraine is difficult and in many places there is no electricity, water, food, and there is a shortage of medicine,” Rabbi Assman added.
