Two Jewish Boys Threatened With Knife in Flatbush

BROOKLYN — In two separate incidents occurring on Monday, December 5, young bachurim standing on Avenue L and East 18th Street in Midwood were threatened by two ruffians who stated they had a knife and demanded their cell phones.

In one incident, the victim fled without giving up his phone and was not physically assaulted. In the second incident, the victim was punched by the assailants, but he managed to flee without surrendering his phone.

Flatbush Shomrim responded and when the suspects realized they were being monitored, the ran away with Shomrim members in pursuit. The suspects discarded the knife, and one was apprehended on Avenue M, and the other suspect ran to East 16th Street and Avenue N where he was detained by Shomrim until police arrived.

Only one suspect was positively identified by the victim, and he was taken into custody, while the second suspect was released.
