Thieves Steal Hatzolah Ambulance in Kiryas Tosh

By Matis Glenn

Shabbos evening, a gang of four thieves attempted to steal a Hatzolah ambulance and possibly other items in the quiet town of Kiryas Tosh, Quebec, sources tell Hamodia.

The gang of bandits were first chased away by a non-Jewish employee of Hatzolah, but when he left on a call, they re-entered the area where both Hatzolah ambulances and school busses for a yeshiva are kept. They vandalized the school busses, entered the nearby yeshiva ketana building, and returned to drive off in an ambulance.

Yeshiva students were eating their Shabbos seudah in the yeshiva gedolah, in the building next to the one that was trespassed; nobody was injured or approached by the suspects.

The group then drove off in a stolen ambulance, heading into the residential area of the Chassidic town. While trying to turn off the cab lights to avoid detection, they accidentally turned on the exterior lights and sirens of the vehicle. When they exited the town and were unable to turn off the sounds and lights that would have alerted law enforcement, the perpetrators abandoned the ambulance and fled on foot.

It isn’t clear what the thieves were looking for besides the ambulance, or if they made off with any stolen items; the yard and yeshiva buildings are being carefully searched.

Shomrim and Hatzolah are combing through video taken by street cameras to help create a timeline and identify the suspects.
