Two Killed, 5 Wounded in Terror Attack in Hadera

Two police officers were killed and seven other people wounded in a terror attack in the northern Israeli city of Hadera on Sunday night.

The two terrorists involved in the attack were killed by undercover police who neutralized the assailants.

The wounded were rushed to Hillel Yaffa Hospital in the city, where a spokesperson said that they had received 10 wounded from the attack; two were in serious condition and undergoing surgery, and 3 were in moderate condition. Another 5 are suffering from shock.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett was reportedly on his way to the scene of the attack and Defense Minister Benny Gantz was holding a situational assessment with top defense and security officials.

Large numbers of police and emergency services have arrived at the site of the shooting at Rechov Herbert Samuel.

Israeli security sources were quoted as saying that the terrorists were Arab Israelis from the Wadi Ara area.

Foreign Minister Yair Lapid informed his counterparts at the Negev summit of the shootings in Hadera, and they all reportedly condemned the attack and offered condolences to the families. Lapid said that the attack “by violent extremists was intended to disrupt normal life in the country. I send my condolences to the families of the slain and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.
