Israel to Pardon Some Fines for Those in Debt Due to Corona

President Reuven Rivlin posted Tuesday that he would be, “announcing today with justice minister Avi Nissenkorn a special pardon process for those who owe fines and are in financial difficulties because of coronavirus.

“At a time like this, the State of Israel must help those who need it and are fighting for their lives financially.”

This will allow those impacted financially by the fight with coronavirus and who are having difficulties paying their debts, to request reductions of fines other than those for breaches of regulations relating to preventing the spread of COVID-19.

The process was drafted by Udit Corinaldi Sirkis Adv., legal advisor to Beit HaNasi, and Nochi Politis Adv., head of the pardons department at the Ministry of Justice.
