A chosson and Kallah from Long Island were sadly killed in a fiery five-car pile-up on an expressway just outside Kennedy Airport early Wednesday — and two drivers suspected of being drunk were taken into custody, police said, according to the New York Daily News.

The car with the chosson Yisroel Levine, Hy”d, and his kallah Elisheva Kaplan, Hy”d, caught fire — killing the two inside — after five cars were swept up in the chain-reaction crash on the Nassau Expressway in Lawrence on the Queens/Long Island border about 1:45 a.m., a spokesman for the Nassau County Police Department said.

The other five victims were taken to area hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately known. Two other people refused medical attention.

Police took two of the injured into custody on suspicion of drunken driving, according to police sources. Charges were pending.

The multi-car crash came as heavy fog blanketed the area. The weather could have been a factor in the crash, Nassau County Police Department spokesman Detective Lt. Richard LeBrun said.

The levayah for both niftarim will be held on Thursday, Erev Yom Tov, at Yeshiva Darchei Torah Bais Medrash, 257 Beach 17 Street, at 11:00 AM.

The kevurah for Elisheva Kaplan will be on Thursday, Erev Yom Tov, at Beth David Cemetery, Elmont, NY; the kevurah for Yisroel Levine will be held in Beit Shmemesh, being flown to Eretz Yisroel on Motzaei Yom Tov.
