IDF Neutralizes Firebomb-Wielding Terrorist

IDF soldiers early Wednesday shot and neutralized a terrorist who threw a firebomb at a soldier in the Dehaisha refugee camp in Yerushalayim. The soldiers were on a security patrol when the terrorist attacked them. The terrorist was severely injured, and was taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital for treatment. B’chasdei Shamayim, there were no injuries to IDF soldiers.

Police on Wednesday were conducting numerous drills, as they prepared for Pesach. Drills were being held in Tel Aviv, the Negev, and in several towns in Yehudah and Shomron. The drills involved numerous scenarios involving civil unrest and responses to terror attacks. No specific terror warnings have been issued, police noted.

IDF troops overnight Tuesday shut down a workshop for the manufacture of arms in central Shomron. The workshop, which produced dozens of weapons a year, was located in the Arab village of A-Dik. It included several large metal cutting machines, along with dozens of weapons in various stages of manufacture. Soldiers confiscated the equipment and weapons, and made several arrests.

Overnight Tuesday, security officials said they arrested six wanted security suspects in other areas in Yehudah and Shomron. The suspects were wanted for participating in rioting and throwing stones and firebombs that endangered Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. Several of the suspects were also charged with belonging to Hamas. All were being questioned on their activities by security forces.
