Search for Missing Hunter Enters 2nd Week

ELLENBURG, N.Y. – The search for a missing Vermont hunter continued, with about 200 searchers combing 1,000 acres of mostly wooded property, the Plattsburgh Press-Republican reported. Munn Boardman, 58, hasn’t been seen since he left his hunting camp a week ago.

Fire Tears Through Onion-packing Plant

ELBA, N.Y. – Workers at the Big O Farms have a double reason to cry. The onion-packing plant was ravaged by a fire Thursday, The Associated Press reported. Firefighters had difficulty since there’s only one hydrant in the area and no sprinklers. No one was injured.

Man Arrested for Counterfeit Check Scheme

BUFFALO – An Atlanta man was arrested Friday for orchestrating a check-cashing scheme that used homeless people to put their names on counterfeit checks that were cashed across Erie County, The Associated Press reported. Robert Haggins, 31, gave the recruits a small portion of the profits.
