Man Trimming Trees Dies After Hitting Electrical Wire

OXFORD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) —

Authorities believe a man who died while cutting tree limbs in New Jersey over the weekend was electrocuted.

The Express-Times in Easton reported that the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office has identified the victim as 48-year-old Sean Loprinzi. Prosecutors say he was in a lift working on tree limbs at his friend’s property in Oxford Township Saturday afternoon when he touched an electrical wire with a gas-powered pole saw.

Warren County Prosecutor Richard Burke said the wires were carrying 7,200 volts.

Rescuers administered CPR on the scene and Loprinzi was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators believe he died from electrocution, but the exact cause and manner of death will be determined through autopsy results.
