Second NYC Board Of Elections Official Suspended

NEW YORK (AP) -

A second New York City Board of Elections official has been suspended over problems reported at polling sites during the presidential primary last month.

A spokeswoman confirmed on Thursday that the deputy chief clerk in Brooklyn, Democrat Betty Ann Canizio-Aqil, was suspended without pay “pending an investigation.”

In April, the Republican chief clerk in Brooklyn, Diane Hasslet-Rudiano, was suspended pending what officials said was an internal probe into “the administration of the voter rolls.”
