HEAP Applications Available in Boro Park, Midwood
Applications for a program that provides assistance to eligible households who need help with the cost of heating their homes opened Thursday in Brooklyn.
Grants of up to $200 may be available to those that have an open balance on their National Grid heating account, from the Neighborhood Heating Fund – HeartShare program.
Assemblymen Dov Hikind and Steve Cymbrowitz will help people apply in their offices.
The Neighborhood Heating Fund, administered by HeartShare Human Services of New York and National Grid, is available to residents of Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. The program is limited to owners and tenants who live in 1-2 family homes or tenants of apartments who pay for their own heat. The fund runs from December through March.
