Nassau Plans to Build Cancer Center For Sloan Kettering
Nassau County will sell five acres near the Nassau Coliseum to build Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s outpatient treatment and research facility, County Executive Ed Mangano said Tuesday.
More than $140 million in private funds will be used to build the 105,000 square-foot facility that provides chemotherapy, radiation therapy and other cancer treatments for patients.
Mangano says the new facility will bring 250 new jobs. If approved by the County Legislature, the new facility would open by 2018.
