Microburst With 100-mph Winds Downed Trees in Mohawk Valley
The National Weather Service says a microburst of straight-line winds up to 100 mph took down trees and power lines in the Mohawk Valley, ripping through around 7:30 p.m. Monday.
The burst of wind was confined to an area of about a mile; 45 miles northwest of Albany. It was responsible for overturning trees, toppling a wooden utility pole and blowing down a brick chimney.
