Apple Rolls Out New iPod Touch, Nano and Shuffle Devices

(Los Angeles Times/TNS) —

Apple has updated its lineup of iPod models.

The iPod Touch, Nano and Shuffle now come in space gray, silver, gold, pink and blue. Although the changes to the Nano and Shuffle were just cosmetic, the Touch also got some performance improvements.

The Touch now features an 8-megapixel iSight camera, a boost from its previous 5-megapixel camera; an improved FaceTime HD camera; an Apple-designed A8 chip with 10 times faster graphics performance for a more immersive gaming experience; and better fitness tracking with the M8 motion coprocessor.

The new iPod Touch starts at $199 for the 16GB model, $249 for 32GB and $299 for 64GB, Apple said in a news release Wednesday. The entire iPod family in its five new colors is already available online and in stores.

For the first time, iPod Touch is available in a 128GB model for $399.
