Hot Jobs Include Translators, Pet-Care Workers, Remodelers, Survey Says

(Chicago Tribune/TNS) —

Looking for a new career? Consider pet-care services, home remodeling or translation, all of which are expected to grow at a rapid pace by 2019, according to a survey by CareerBuilder.

The job-search website on Thursday released a list of industries expected to add jobs at an accelerated pace from 2014 to 2019.

With about 8 million jobs expected to be added in the U.S. by 2019, CareerBuilder said that a significant number of industries are in line to make substantial gains.

The list includes industries that are projected to add at least 10,000 jobs and experience at least 15 percent growth in employment.

Translation and interpretation services topped the list, with projections to grow by 36 percent to 12,401 jobs. At the bottom of the growth list is sports and recreation instruction, which is expected to grow 15 percent to 46,832 jobs.

Industries with high growth rates also include specialty hospitals, though that does not include psychiatric and substance-abuse facilities, home-health-care services, and wine and alcoholic-beverage wholesalers. Also on the high-growth list are electronic shopping businesses, environment and conservation organizations, and computer system design services.

CareerBuilder said its data was compiled from its labor-market-analysis arm, which pulls data from more than 90 national and state employment resources.
