Cultural Events to Be Moved as Gracie Repairs Begin

NEW YORK (AP) —

Mayor Bill de Blasio is relocating nearly a dozen cultural events due to repair work at Gracie Mansion which began Monday.

The first is an Asian-Pacific Heritage Month Celebration, which was slated for May 28. Others include the Puerto Rican Heritage event, a Ramadan dinner and the West Indian and Caribbean Day celebration. Officials said all the events will be relocated to other historic locations and cultural institutions around the city.

Gracie Mansion will undergo roof replacement and asbestos removal.
