Youth Corps Application Process Opens for Summer Jobs
Applications for Youth Corps are available for New York City youths between the ages of 14 to 24, Councilman Chaim Deutsch announced Wednesday.
More than 47,000 slots are available. Forms can be downloaded on the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development website, paper applications can be picked up at COJO of Flatbush, 1546 Coney Island Avenue, (2nd Floor Office.) Monday through Thursday, between 3 and 5:30 pm before March 23.
The program, commonly known as Youth Corps, provides young people with up to 25 hours a week of paid employment for six weeks in July and August. The deadline to apply is April 10, or Shevii Shel Pesach.
“Every young person deserves the opportunity to work,” said Deutsch, a Midwood Democrat who secured an additional $15.2 million for the program for the upcoming season.
