Emergency Briefing on NY Tuition Aid Bill

BROOKLYN

State Sen. Simcha Felder is hosting an “emergency briefing” on Monday, February 23, for school administrators and education advocates regarding the potentially historic tuition aid bill he sponsored.

Felder, who chairs the Senate’s New York City education subcommittee, as well as his counsel, Jay Bove, will discuss how the Education Investment Incentives Act will help yeshivah parents with the crushing tuition burden.

The bill, which passed the Senate last week, faces a deadline to include the bill in this year’s budget, and neither the Assembly nor Gov. Andrew Cuomo has made much progress in ensuring its inclusion. The final budget is due on March 30.

“I have done my part to ensure its passage in the Senate,” Felder wrote in a letter to yeshivah administrators. “I now need your help to ensure its final passage and successful implementation.”

The event will take place in the Bais Yaakov of 18th Avenue building at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. More information can be obtained at 718-253-2015 or by emailing SenFelderPR@gmail.com.
