Defense Ministry Agrees to Finance Vehicle Protection in Yehudah and Shomron
After intense pressure from leaders in Yehudah and Shomron, the Defense Ministry has agreed to allocate a million shekels to equip private vehicles with protection against attacks by terrorists.
However, the Yesha Council said on Wednesday that the amount would not be sufficient to address the problem, and has already submitted a request for additional funding.
They argue that the protective equipment has proven effective in saving lives and reducing injuries, and that in the long run will save the state money, since it will have to pay out less compensation to victims of Palestinian violence.
