Police Dog Spooked by Fireworks Killed by Car

GLASSBORO, N.J.

A K-9 dog who worked for the police department, scared by Fourth of July fireworks Saturday night, ran into the street and was fatally hit by a car, the South Jersey Times reported. Anka, a German shepherd, was discovered missing from her kennel by Glassboro Patrolman Charles Williams. An off-duty officer found her in the street a half mile away.
