WWII Vet Dies in Small Plane Crash in Upstate NY
An 88-year-old WWII veteran who loved to fly died Saturday when his plane crashed in the upstate airfield that bore his name, The Associated Press reported. Norman Hasman, a tail gunner who was shot down twice in combat and was a prisoner of war in Germany, was killed when his plane’s left wheel caught in tall grass and flipped over.
