NJ Law Penalizes Leaving Scene of Boating Accident

POINT PLEASANT, N.J.

Gov. Chris Christie on Thursday signed into law an increase in penalties for boaters who leave the scenes of accidents, similar to leaving the scene of a car crash, The Associated Press reported. The rules would make it a second-degree crime in results of death and third-degree crime if it results in serious injury.
