Former Gov. Paterson Named Chairman of N.Y. Democrats
Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Wednesday that his predecessor, David Paterson, will be the new chairman of New York’s Democratic party.
A longtime state senator from Harlem, Paterson was lieutenant governor when Gov. Eliot Spitzer resigned in 2007. His declining to run for reelection paved the way for Cuomo’s ascension.
Assemblyman Keith Wright and Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner have been party co-chairs. Miner recently resigned.
