In Sting, 32 NYC Shops Sell Liquor to Minors

NEW YORK

Thirty-two New York City stores were caught selling liquor to minors in a sting operation and fined up to $10,000 per violation, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Monday. The State Liquor Authority sent minors undercover into 74 stores since April 17. They purchased liquor in 15 out of 16 stores in Brooklyn, but only one of 15 in the Bronx. The rates in the other boroughs were in the middle. The sting runs through the summer checking out 1,000 shops.
