1,300 NY, NJ Families Losing Sandy Rental Aid

NEW YORK

About 1,300 families in New York and New Jersey displaced by Sandy will lose their federal rental assistance when it runs out on Thursday, the Wall Street Journal reported. At its peak, New York had 90,944 households and New Jersey had 44,592 on the program, but 99 percent have already left. Federal and state governments are now coordinating long-term aid for the rest.
