Con Ed: Next Storm Could Cause NYC Area Outages
Con Edison is warning New Yorkers that the predicted mix of snow and freezing rain from Tuesday until the end of the week could lead to power outages. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning overnight Tuesday until 6 p.m. Wednesday, with the New York City area expected to get another 4 to 8 inches of snow, plus about one-tenth of an inch of ice. Con Edison notes that snow and ice can bring trees and limbs down onto power lines, causing outages. Residents are reminded to stay away from any downed lines.
