Mayor-Elect’s Son Named One of Most Influential Teens
Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio’s son on Tuesday was named one of the most influential teens in the country by Time Magazine.
Dante de Blasio, 16, was singled out by the magazine as the “city’s latest fashion icon.” It noted that his “now-iconic afro” was even lauded by President Barack Obama. His appearance in a broadcast ad for his father was widely seen as a pivotal moment for de Blasio’s ultimately successful campaign.
Along with de Blasio, other influential teens are Malia Obama, the 15-year-old daughter of the president, and Malala Yousafzai, 16, the Afghan education activist shot by the Taliban.
