40 Years Later, Woman Saved From Cliff Reunites With Rescuer
More than 40 years after she and two younger sisters were rescued from a cliff, an upstate woman has met with her rescuer again, thanks to a chance encounter.
Anna Wood of Carthage was hiking with her siblings 41 years ago this week in a state park in Lewis County when they got stuck on a ledge near the top of a 400-foot cliff. Her sister, then 13, climbed to the top and ran for help while Anna remained on the ledge with her 12-year-old sibling. A rescue team later pulled them to safety.
