Two Amish Hospitalized After Buggy Crash

RICHLAND, N.Y. (AP) —

Two Amish people have been hospitalized after their horse and buggy were hit by a car on a central New York road.

Levi Hershberger was driving his buggy around 2:45 p.m. Sunday when it was hit on a rural road in the Oswego County town of Richland. Hershberger and two passengers, Saloma Hershberger and Tina Hershberger, were ejected from the buggy. Saloma and Tina Hershberger were taken to Upstate Medical Center for possible head trauma.

The car was driven by 28-year-old Priscilla Janack of Richland. She was ticketed for failure to use due care approaching a horse.
