Police, Sanitation Unions Back Chaim Deutsch

BROOKLYN -

Two unions praised Chaim Deutsch’s work as founder of the Flatbush Shomrim Wednesday as they declared their backing for his City Council bid in the upcoming Democratic primary.

Louis Turco, president of the Lieutenants Benevolent Association, said that Deutsch, the chief of staff of term-limited Councilman Mike Nelson, “has had invaluable experience working with law enforcement in real-life scenarios to resolve conflicts within his community.

Harry Nespoli, president of the Uniformed Sanitationmen’s Association, praised Deutsch for his volunteer work in the wake of Superstorm Sandy last fall.
