Dozens Stranded in Kiev After Baal HaTanya’s Yartzheit
Dozens of Israelis were stranded in Kiev as a result of the sudden bankruptcy announcement of the Ukrainian airline Aerosvit, Arutz Sheva reported on Monday.
Most of the passengers of the stranded flight are Chabad and Breslov chassidim who were returning from marking the 200th yartzheit of the Baal HaTanyia.
Some of the travelers were offered lodgings and meals, but some were left to fend for themselves at the airport. Rabbi Moshe Reuven Asman, a Rav in Kiev, rushed to the airport to help with emergency arrangements.
In addition, the passengers fear that storm conditions may prolong the delay even longer.
