Garbage Truck Crashes into Train Pillar in Boro Park

A garbage truck driver was hospitalized in critical condition after crashing into an elevated-train-pillar on McDonald Avenue in Boro Park.
The accident occurred on June 15 at around 3:40am, at the intersection of 18th Avenue and Mcdonald Avenue. Police say that the driver, a 44 year old man, was driving northbound on McDonald avenue when he suffered a medical episode that caused him to lose control of the vehicle before slamming into the steel pillar.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
A passenger in the truck suffered wounds in his leg; both were taken to Maimonides hospital.
