Traffic Light Coming to 18th Ave. at 56th Street

BROOKLYN

The city will soon be installing a traffic light on 18th Ave. at 56th Street in Boro Park, where thousands of children cross to play at the 18th Avenue park, Councilman David Greenfield announced on Friday.

Transportation Commissioner Polly Trottenberg made the commitment a week after visiting Boro Park’s busiest playground.

“What a relief!” Greenfield said. “With a new traffic light on the corner, parents will be able to send their children to play in the park confident that they will be safe on their way out and back home.”
