IDF Soldier Rescued from Rock-Throwing Mob by Palestinian Police

YERUSHALAYIM

An Israeli soldier escaped with only light injuries after accidentally entering a Palestinian town north of Chevron, where he was set upon by rock-throwers, on Monday.

It was not immediately known how the soldier made the potentially fatal mistake of driving into Sa’ir, in the Palestinian Authority, where he was surrounded by local residents who attacked him and his truck with rocks.

He was rescued by PA security services and handed over to the IDF “in collaboration with the Civil Administration,” the army said, adding that he was taken to hospital for treatment.
