Victim in Parade Attack Dies Of Her Wounds
A sixteen-year-old girl, one of the six individuals stabbed last Thursday during an attack on marchers in a provocative parade promoting patently immoral behavior, died of her wounds on Sunday.
The perpetrator, who has been a described as a deranged man who was just recently released after serving a long sentence for a similar crime, is in custody and is now expected to face murder charges.
According to the Jerusalem Post, the Judea and Samaria District Police said after the attack it was not obligated to keep track of the whereabouts of the assailant following his release, though he lives in its jurisdiction.
The newspaper also quoted Jerusalem District Police head Asst.-Ch. Moshe Edri said the force did not have concrete intelligence that the assailant was in attendance at the parade.
“We were prepared for every scenario, but our perimeter was breached,” he said. “This is a severe incident, and we will investigate to find out what caused this breach.”
