65-Story Tower Planned Near Grand Central
New York City officials announced rezoning plans for the area around Grand Central Terminal, including a 65-story tower and transportation improvements, The New York Times reported. The lobby would include a public waiting room for commuters. The development plan is an updated version of ex-Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s failed plan to rezone a 73-block swath of midtown. Mayor Bill de Blasio promised to offer his own proposal for the area during his election campaign.
