4 Hachnasas Sefer Torah Events in Rockland Sunday, 2 in Williamsburg, As Shavuos Approaches

Four shuls in Rockland County and two in Williamsburg will welcome new sifrei Torah Sunday afternoon, as the Yom Tov of Matan Torah approaches.

RocklandDaily.com reports the following shuls will hold Hachnasas Sefer Torah events Sunday in Rockland:

Skver Monsey: The Sefer Torah will leave 5:30pm from 27 Paikin Dr Unit 211, Spring Valley to the shul at 2 Lexis Court. A Seuda will take place afterwards in the KZM Simcha Hall, 153 Grandview Ave, Monsey. The Torah was donated in memory of the Skverer Rebbe’s right-hand man, Rabbi Yisroel Meir Gunzberg, z’l.

Ratzfert in Airmont: The Sefer Torah will leave 39 Overbrook Dr at 5 p.m. and return to the shul at 5 Overbrook. Sefer was donated in memory of Rabbi Moshe Yankowitz.

Trisk: The Torah procession will commence at 4:00 pm from 9 South Post Lane, Airmont, and proceed to the Trisk Shul located at 4 Sobrisco Street. A large seuda will take place in the Atrium Plaza afterwards.

Ohr Naftule: At 5pm, the Sefer Torah will leave 4 Ronwood Road Spring Valley heading to the shul, at 26 Pascack Road Pearl River. Members of the Beis Medrish wrote the sefer Torah themselves; a project headed by their Rav, Harav Moshe Horowitz.

In Williamsburg, expect street closures in the afternoon near Mishkoltz shul, located at 81 Division Avenue, and Kapish shul, located at 481 Bedford Avenue; both shuls will be holding Hachnasas Sefer Torah celebrations.

Additionally, on the second day of Shavuos, a Hachnasas Sefer Torah celebration will be held at Pshevorsk, at 22 Ronald Drive, at around 11:10 a.m. The sefer was donated by the Stern family.
